• CVS launches the Urban Initiative to better address the needs of shoppers in urban environments.  The Urban concept features “Grab-N-Go” meal sections, re-designed checkouts, expanded consumables and open store front windows.
  • CVS Pharmacy Call Center in Cumberland, Rhode Island, a LEED Gold certified building, opens to serve the needs of the retail pharmacy customers.  A second LEED Certified building, the Marketing Center, also opens.
  • 14,600 Type A Prototype (One level building) is released for new store construction.
